Orcas Island

Lovingly termed the Gem of the San Juan Islands, the 57 square miles that make up Orcas Island are green and lush. The varying topography of this horseshoe shaped island, in conjunction with its location in the Olympic Mountains rain shadow, creates a series of micro climates that ensure the weather will never be the same from one end of the island to the other.

Centered around Eastsound Village and a series of small hamlets, the residents of Orcas Island are as diverse as the landscape. Stemming from a wide range of backgrounds, most are drawn here by the promise of a slow paced, quiet lifestyle. Life here revolves around food, music, art, and the outdoors, so there is truly something for everyone. And out here, the best way to feel like part of the community is to get involved.
